Akshay Oberoi reveals the story of the Laal Rang sequel

Actor Akshay Oberoi, who was last seen in the web series Feels Like Home, is busy shooting multiple projects. One of the projects is the much-awaited Laal Rang 2, and Akshay recently spilled the beans on the film.

The 2016 film Laal Rang, a dark social drama, is set in Haryana and revolves around the illegal blood trade business.

The film, directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal, was received well by critics. Akshay played the role of Rajesh, the partner-in-crime of Shankar, played by Randeep Hooda.

The shooting of the sequel is set to begin soon. It will see the three lead actors - Akshay, Randeep and Pia - reprising their roles.  

Speaking about the sequel, Akshay said, "The movie dealt with the illegal blood trade business. Even though it is a serious issue, the makers gave it a humorous angle. The first part was well received and I am ecstatic that we are back with the second part, which is coming after seven years."

He also mentioned that the new film is more interesting and intriguing than the first one. 

This apart, Akshay has multiple projects in the pipeline that includes Fighter, directed by Pathaan's Siddharth Anand and starring Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor. 

Akshay will also be seen in the film Gaslight, which stars Sara Ali Khan and Vikrant Massey. The film, a dark thriller, is produced by Ramesh Taurani and directed by Pawan Kriplani, and also features Chitrangada Singh in a pivotal role.   

As 2023 looks quite promising for him, Akshay said, "This is going to be a great year. I can already feel it."
