Akshaye Khanna 'lives in his own world, doesn't care about anybody', says Arshad Warsi amid Drishyam 3 exit controversy

Since the release of the spy thriller, Dhurandhar, Akshaye Khanna has been getting continuous love and praise for his acting, especially his simply attractive dance steps on Flipperachi's FA9LA. Amid Dhurandhar's blockbuster success, Akshaye made headlines for stepping away from Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3, after which the producer called him out and said that success had gone to his head. Amid Drishyam 3 exit row, Arshad Warsi made a comment on Akshaye, and while praising him as an actor, he said that Khanna lives in his own world.

During a recent interview with The Lallantop, Arshad Warsi spoke about Short Kut with Akshaye Khanna. When asked about his experience of working with Akshaye, Arshad said, "Akshaye is a very serious guy. Actor toh voh pehle se hi acha hai, there was never a doubt about that. But voh apni hi duniya main rehta hai (he lives in his own world)."

Warsi further added, "He believes that it’s his own life, and what you think or don’t think about him is not his problem. He lives life on his own terms, he doesn't care about this PR and stuff, right from day one. He has been like this all his life."

Drishyam 3 producer calls out Akshaye Khanna

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Kumar Mangat Pathak, the producer of Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3, said that he had sent Khanna a legal notice for exiting the film just 10 days before the shoot, despite having signed an agreement. The producer alleged that Akshay wanted to wear a wig for the film, but the director politely declined the request as it would have affected the continuity.

"I will definitely take compensation from Akshaye for this. It’s not easy, that you commit for a film, take money and then leave. Even if he wants to return to the film now, we won't work with him. Na kabhi dobara kaam karna hai, iss tarah ke behaviour ke baad," the producer shared.

Kumar Mangat Pathak called Akshaye 'toxic and unprofessional.' Meanwhile, the producer also confirmed that Jaideep Ahlawat has replaced Akshaye in Drishaym 3. Also starring Ajay, Tabu, Shriya Saran, and others, Drishyam 3 will be released on October 2, 2026. 

Akshaye Khanna’s work front

Meanwhile, Akshaye Khanna will next be seen in Prasanth Varma’s Mahakali. He will portray the role of Asuraguru Shukracharya. The film is part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).
