Alanti Sitralu, an indie Telugu film, featuring a mix of newcomers and known faces in its lead cast, Shwetta Parashar, Prawin Yendamuri, Yash Puri, Tanvi Akaanksha, Ajay Kathurvar, Ravi Varma and Dayanand Reddy, is set to release on ZEE5 on September 24. The film, written and directed by Supreeth C Krishna, is also bankrolled by him in collaboration with Rahul Reddy D and Lokku Srivarun under I&I Arts and Cosmicray Productions. The ZEE5 web original's trailer was unveiled earlier this week.
The film revolves around four characters hailing from contrasting backgrounds - a middle-aged prostitute, an adventurous youngster, an irresponsible father and a boxer with anxiety issues. The trailer shows a youngster repeatedly trying to woo the prostitute despite her disinterest and the latter's hope to live a regular life like a family woman someday. The focus shifts to the father later, who does a shoddy job of taking care of his daughter, and is involved in several notorious activities all day. The other pivotal character is of a boxer going through bouts of anxiety and psychological issues.
In terms of the backdrop, Alanti Sitralu mostly unfolds at a metro station, which serves as a common link to all the lives of the lead characters. The film has a breezy, feel-good vibe and is distinct in its treatment in comparison to the regular commercial outings. Hence, the decision to release on OTT doesn't come as a surprise. Santhu Omkar has scored the music for the film, while Karthik Sai Kumar has handled the cinematography. Ashwath Shiva Kumar is the film's editor and sound designer, with Rohan Singh working on the production design.
