Alappuzha Gymkhana box office collection day 12: Naslen’s rom-com Premalu had entered the Rs 100-crore club last year, catapulting the young Malayalam actor to the status of a star. Naslen seems to have continued the winning streak in 2025 with his Alappuzha Gymkhana now crossing Rs 50 crore in worldwide box office collections, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. Khalid Rahman’s sports comedy is the fourth Malayalam film to achieve this feat. Let’s take a look at the box office figures...
Naslen-led Alappuzha Gymkhana has grossed Rs 51 crore in worldwide collections within 12 days at the box office, as per figures on Sacnilk. The India gross collection of the film stands at Rs 36.4 crore, while the overseas collection is Rs 14.6 crore.
Khalid Rahman’s film released on April 10, 2025, clashing with Mammootty’s big-ticket Bazooka and Basil Joseph-led Maranamass. But the fun-filled film, which narrates the tale of a bunch of students who seek to secure grace marks through boxing competition, emerged to be the winner at the Vishu Box Office 2025. Bazooka made Rs 25.45 crore in 12 days, and Maranamass' collections stand at Rs 16.34 crore in 12 days at the box office.
Alappuzha Gymkhana is the fourth Malayalam film this year to enter the Rs 50-crore club. The film follows the other Malayalam hits of the year - Asif Ali-starrer Rekhachithram, Kunchacko Boban’s thriller Officer on Duty and Empuraan, the Lucifer sequel.
Rekhachithram, which also features Anaswara Rajan in a key role, is now available for streaming on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium.
Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, released in theatres on March 27, 2025, drawing much flak from right-wing sections. Despite this, Empuraan earned Rs 266.32 crore worldwide, as per Sacnilk. However, the makers have claimed that the film has collected Rs 325 crore.
