Naslen K Gafoor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming Malayalam film, Alappuzha Gymkhana, directed by Khalid Rahman. The film is expected to release in the Summer of 2025. Though the makers have not officially announced a release date, online trackers claim that the Naslen-starrer will be out on April 3, 2025. This is an interesting date, as it will come directly between the release of two Malayalam biggies - Empuraan and Bazooka.
Naslen, who scored a major hit with Premalu last year, is all set for his next major release, Alappuzha Gymkhana. The film's rumoured release date of April 3 means that the young star’s movie will be pitted against Mohanlal-starrer Empuraan and Mammootty’s Bazooka. While Empuraan is slated to release on March 27, Bazooka is scheduled to hit theatres on April 10 as a Vishu release.
Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, has been in the spotlight for a while now as fans are eagerly awaiting the second installment of the Lucifer franchise. There is also sufficient buzz around Mammootty’s Bazooka too which will have Gautham Vasudev Menon in a key role.
On the other hand, Alappuzha Gymkhana stars Naslen along with Lukman Avaran and Ganapathi S. Poduval. The film is touted to be a sports comedy which is produced by Khalid Rahman, Jobin George, Sameer Karat and Subeesh Kannanchery. Lukman Avaran, who plays the role of a coach in the film, had earlier said that the film would be a fun entertainer.
Meanwhile, Naslen shot to fame last year after his Premalu grabbed attention outside Kerala too. The romantic comedy film that also stars Mamitha Baiju, along with Sangeeth Prathap, Akhila Bhargavan, and Shyam Mohan won over audiences in no time. The Telugu-dubbed version of Premalu is streaming on Aha and OTTplay Premium. Both Naslen and Mamitha had previously featured in Anaswara Rajan’s Super Sharanya. Both Premalu and Super Sharanya were directed by Girish AD.
