The Home actor, who is known for his charming persona on screen, is gearing up for the release of his next film Alappuzha Gymkhana, which is directed by Khalid Rahman. Naslen recently spilled some beans about his role in the upcoming film, saying it is different from his earlier characters.
Ahead of the release of his upcoming Malayalam film, Alappuzha Gymkhana, leading star Naslen, who plays the role of Jojo Johnson in the movie, said that he has not done such a character before.
"This role of Jojo is very different from the characters I have played so far. I have done mostly introvert characters till now. But my character in Alappuzha Gymkhana has three heroines,” Naslen said during the press meet of Alappuzha Gymkhana held recently.
Not just Naslen, the movies boasts of a host of young talents including Ganapathi S. Poduval, Sandeep Pradeep, Anagha Ravi, Franco Francis, Baby Jean, and Shiva Hariharan. Lukman Avaran, who is also a part of the movie had earlier said that it is a fun entertainer.
Alappuzha Gymkhana’s director is Khalid Rahman, who had previously helmed Tovino Thomas’ Thallumaala, which became popular among the youth for its impressive songs and stylish choreography. So expectations are high as Naslen, who has a good fan following, and Khalid Rahman join forces for the film, touted to be a sports comedy.
Earlier in an itnerviwe with the Cue Studio, Thallumaala director had said that Alappuzha Gymkhana’s plot revolves around a bunch of youngsters who seek to compete in state-level sports competition after failing the plus-two exams. They decide to compete in boxing as the grace marks would help them secure a college admission.
Despite having a background of boxing, Khalid said that it is a light-hearted movie with no blood-shedding violence, unlike the recent violent actioners such as Marco.
