Fans have been eagerly awaiting the digital debut of Alappuzha Gymkhana for almost a month, with several reports claiming that it will be available for streaming on June 5, 2025. However, that turned out to be a false alarm, and the Naslen-led sports comedy finally made its OTT premiere on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium on June 12, 2025. After the 2025 Malayalam film Alappuzha Gymkhana dropped online, netizens have been lavishing praise on the movie, especially Naslen's stellar performance and Khalid Rahman's direction. During its theatrical run too, the Khalid Rahman film had won much love and appreciation, and it looks like the saga continues after the digital release. Vishnu Vijay's music was another reason for Alappuzha Gymkhana winning over the audiences. Even before the film's theatrical release, the song Panjara Punch caught everyone's attention and the story is no different post digital debut of the film.
One netizen also compared Alappuzha Gymkhana to the other Malayalam OTT release of the week, Padakkalam, which stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharafudheen and Sandeep Pradeep in lead roles. Khalid Rahman's film revolves around a bunch of friends and their attempt to take part in ameteur boxing competion, while Manu Swaraj's Padakkalam dealt with an ancient game and the concept of body swap.

What's the plot of Naslen's Alappuzha Gymkhana?
Naslen plays teenager Jojo Johnson, who comes up with the idea of participating in a boxing competition to secure grace marks after he fails in the plus-two exams, much like his close buddies. He and his friends then join Alappuzha Gymkhana, training to take part in the state-level competition. With a vibrant cast, amusing plot, witty one-liners, and groovy music, Alappuzha Gymkhana remains an entertaining watch, despite the minor flaws that the film obviously has.
