Ever since the trailer of U-Turn, which is the remake of the Tamil-Telugu bilingual of the same name came out, there has been chatter about another remake of a South Indian film being made.

The original film U-Turn was made in Kannada in 2016. Following the success of the film, it was made in Tamil and Telugu and released in 2018. The remake starred Samantha, and it was made in Malayalam, Sinhala, and Filipino as well.

Alaya F stars in the Hindi remake, and OTTplay caught up with her as the movie gears up for release.

When we asked Alaya about remakes, she said, "This is not a remake; it is an adaptation, so the end and the twists and turns are different in our film. It is just the heart and soul of the movie that are the same. So, anyone who has watched any other version of U-Turn can watch this film, since the Hindi film is still fresh."

Adding to this, Alaya's co-star Priyanshu Painyuli said, "One really has to take a U-turn and come back to where the narrative started from, and that's the beauty of our film. Our approach to the plot, the characters, the treatment of the story -- everything is very different from what the audience has seen so far."

The trailer of the film released recently, Alaya spoke about her state of mind. "I am very excited because it is a very gripping, entertaining, and thrilling film. I'm sure the audience is really going to enjoy the film."

Priyanshu added, "Yes, the response to the trailer is really positive, and it is exciting for us to share the film with the audience. I think people want to watch good content, and they have been reacting to every element of the film, be it the police investigation, murder, or supernatural elements. Once the film releases, people will get to know why things have happened and how."

Directed by Arif Khan, U-Turn also stars Rajesh Sharma, Shriidhar Dubey, Aashim Gulati, Manu Rishi Chadha, and Grusha Kapoor. It releases on OTTplay and ZEE5 on April 28 .
