Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi's upcoming directorial venture, 'Lahore 1947', is generating immense anticipation among audiences. Since its announcement, the film has captivated the attention of viewers. It is poised to bring together the formidable trio of Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Aamir Khan, with Preity Zinta headlining as the lead heroine.

Adding to the excitement surrounding the project, recent developments have revealed that actor Ali Fazal has joined the cast to portray a significant role. Furthermore, actor Abhimanyu Singh, known for his roles in films like Sooryavanshi, Dhol, and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, has been confirmed to play the antagonist opposite Sunny Deol.

This development comes a day after filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment in cheque-bouncing case.

Ali Fazal to feature in Lahore 1947

Ali Fazal, renowned for his impressive performances in both Bollywood and Hollywood, is recognized as one of the most promising talents in Indian cinema. His memorable portrayals, such as Guddu Bhaiya in 'Mirzapur' and Zafar Bhai in the 'Fukrey' franchise, have garnered widespread acclaim. With his involvement in 'Lahore 1947', anticipation for the film is bound to soar even higher. This development was confirmed via a press statement.

Speaking of 'Lahore 1947', Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan will serve as the producer under Aamir Khan Productions, while esteemed director Rajkumar Santoshi will helm the project. Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta will lead the cast as the main actors.

Sunny Deol and Gadar 2 success

Released in 2023, "Gadar 2" is a period action-drama film directed and produced by Anil Sharma, with the screenplay penned by Shaktimaan Talwar. Serving as a sequel to the acclaimed "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" (2001), it features Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma reprising their respective roles from the predecessor. The film hit theaters on August 11, 2023, garnering significant commercial success by grossing over ₹691.08 crore globally, surpassing its production budget of ₹60 crore.

Besides having a great acting career, Sunny Deol is also an active politician.
