Alia Bhatt meets Nitesh Tiwari just now; Is Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana on the cards?

Today morning, plenty of news reports suggested that filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial Ramayana has been postponed to an indefinitely. The film was expected to star Malayalam actress Sai Pallavi alongside Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor in lead roles. And now, fresh B-Town buzz suggests that Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has been approached to play the lead role in the film instead of Sai Pallavi.

Just about a few minutes ago, Alia Bhatt and Nitesh Tiwari were clicked post meeting at RSVP office in Mumbai. In the video, Alia can be spotted giving a warm hug to the filmmaker just before boarding her car.

If this news is true, then this will be the third time that the lead role of an upcoming film will be changed.

Initially, the makers of the film, Ramayana, approached popular star Deepika Padukone to play the lead role in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana. However, she denied being a part of the film citing her work commitments for another film Draupadi, for the same production house, and hence South star Sai Pallavi was roped in to play the role.

It is yet to be confirmed whether Alia Bhatt has replaced Sai Pallavi in Ramayana.

Some portals also suggest that Alia has approached Nitesh to direct a film under her production house, Eternal Sunshine. Well, only time will tell what discussion took place between the two celebrities.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia Bhatt has a couple of projects lined up. Bhatt will next be seen in romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, co-starring Ranveer Singh. Later during the year, she will appear alongside popular Hollywood stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in the Netflix spy film Heart of Stone.
