Bollywood actors’ real love stories are always a topic of discussion for fans, and it turns sweeter when destiny plays the cupid! Recently at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, Alia Bhatt revealed the first time she met her husband and soulmate Ranbir Kapoor and shared the backstory with fans and media.

The 30-year-old actress shared her chance encounter story while gracing the red carpet event.  She revealed little she knew that the person she met on a film set would become her husband in the future. While speaking to the media at the Red Sea Film Festival held in  Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Alia Bhatt spilled the beans on her meet-cute with her fated husband when she was just nine years old.

Reminiscing about her childhood audition, Bhatt shared how she went for filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali after convincing her mother Soni Razdan for the acting gig.

“The first time that I met my now husband Ranbir Kapoor was when I was nine years old. The one time my mother was okay for me to be a child actor was when I was nine because it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali,” the Rocky aur Rani kii prem kahaani actress said.

The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress also disclosed that Ranbir Kapoor, who must be 19 at that time was working as an assistant director for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie project.

“I walked into his office.. Who was assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali at that time? Ranbir!

Obviously, at that time he was not at that time an actor... I was not even looking at him, I was looking at Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I was like this is the director.”

Memorable picture

Dolled up in a golden sparkling sleeveless dress, Alia Bhatt nailed her red carpet look. Narrating the adorable story of destiny, Alia revealed that the special moment was sealed with a picture from the movie set. Although Alia couldn’t get the role for which she auditioned for the Black movie, she has a lifelong memory of it.

“There’s a photo of us from that audition from a movie that we were gonna do at that time but it didn’t happen,” Bhatt added.

In another conversation, the actress reprised her Gangubai personality by mimicking one of the epic dialogues, piquing the interrest of the cheering crowd
