Recently, Alia Bhatt has been frequently in the news, and for all good reason. Her year has been incredible so far, both personally and professionally. In the midst of all, Alia has informed that she will shortly officially change her name to Alia Bhatt Kapoor. Alia recently discussed formally incorporating the Kapoor last name in an interview with Mid-Day.

She claimed that while her husband, Ranbir Kapoor quickly updated his passport to indicate his marriage, she was unable to do so due to her extensive travel and business obligations following her wedding. For those who are unaware, Alia recently spent a few months in London filming Heart of Stone, her first Hollywood film, with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.

Alia added, “I will be doing it (adding the Kapoor surname). I have to add all these things. I am happy to do it.” She elaborated further and added, “We are going to have a child now. I don’t want to be the Bhatt, whilst the Kapoors are travelling together; you know what I mean? I don’t want to feel left out.” Alia remained certain that her screen name would not change.

Meanwhile, after dating for a few years, she married Ranbir in April of this year. The newlyweds are about to embark on a fresh and joyful chapter in their lives as they prepare to welcome their first child together.

In terms of work, Alia is the only Bollywood star who has had three hit movies in a row this year, including RRR, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and the just-released dark comedy Darlings, which was directed by Jasmeet K Reen. Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Matthew all had roles in the movie, which was her producing debut.

She is currently anticipating the release of the eagerly awaited movie Brahmastra, in which she will collaborate with Ranbir for the very first time. Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy will all play significant roles in the Ayan Mukerji-helmed film. The movie will premiere on September 9 in theatres.

In addition to this, Alia also stars alongside Ranveer Singh in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. She also has Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa, starring Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif, in development.
