While Alia Bhatt continues to stay busy with her acting projects and is currently on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, her next project as a producer is among the most anticipated ventures for her fans across the country. Though there have been many rumours about what the actor is planning next, nothing has been officially announced yet. However, a new speculation is now making waves—and it might be the biggest one so far. It is being said that Alia is all set to produce a young-adult web series for a streaming platform. Alia Bhatt Producing a Young-Adult Web Series?
For the uninitiated, Alia Bhatt turned producer with her company Eternal Sunshine Productions. While she continues to build her acting career, she is also focused on strengthening the slate for her production house. Now, according to a Mid-Day report, Alia is currently working on a new web series as a producer in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video. This marks her second partnership with the streaming platform after Poacher (2024).
Reportedly, the final draft of the upcoming series backed by the RRR actor is already in progress, and it will be a young-adult story. A source revealed, “It’s a high-concept young adult series set on an urban Indian college campus—think slice-of-life meets coming-of-age. The narrative unfolds from the point of view of two young couples.” The source also confirmed that the casting process has already begun.
Alia Bhatt, as per reports, is focused on backing fresh talent. “Alia wants the show to feel authentic. She is certain that the chosen faces should be real-life 20-somethings, whom the audience can relate to. Four fresh faces will be launched with the series,” said a casting insider.
If all goes according to plan, the series is expected to begin filming later this year. Meanwhile, this isn’t the only project Eternal Sunshine Productions is working on. The screen adaptation of Manju Kapur’s novel Difficult Daughters is also in the pipeline. The adaptation will be helmed by Sonu Razdan. Additionally, Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt is also developing a show under the banner.
