Alia Bhatt to star in Vasan Bala’s new action thriller, produced by Karan Johar; details inside

Alia Bhatt, who has proved her versatility and talent in various genres of films, is all set to explore a new territory with her next project. The actress will reportedly headline an action thriller directed by Vasan Bala, who is known for his critically acclaimed films like 'Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota' and 'Monica, O My Darling'. The film will be produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, marking Alia's 12th collaboration with the filmmaker who launched her in Bollywood with 'Student of the Year' in 2012.

According to sources, the film is a prison break story and will feature Alia in one of the most challenging roles of her career. The film is currently in the pre-production stage and is expected to go on floors in September this year. The film will also have an ensemble cast of talented actors, whose names are yet to be revealed.

"Vasan Bala is known for his distinct storytelling and unconventional narratives. His film with Alia Bhatt also promises to be a refreshing and unique cinematic experience for Hindi audiences. Alia will be seen playing one of the most challenging roles of her career in this movie, and she is excited to go on this new adventure and explore a genre she hasn’t attempted before. This is going to be a heck of an interesting movie," a source close to the project told Pinkvilla.

Alia Bhatt is currently busy promoting her upcoming film 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', which is also produced by Karan Johar and directed by him after a gap of seven years. The film, which also stars Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi, is slated to release on July 28.

The actress will also be seen in 'Heart Of Stone', her Hollywood debut with Gal Gadot.
