Today was the day when the prestigious National Awards were declared. It was done at a grand event which was held in Delhi. There were many celebrities who had attended from different parts of India. As for Bollywood, there were a whole bunch of actors, who had attended the grand event. Prominent amongst those who attended the event were Waheeda Rehman, Ranbir Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi, Alia Bhatt and many others.

Speaking of Alia Bhatt, she won the ‘Best Actress’ award for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi, which was directed by the prolific filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. When her name was announced as the winner of the ‘Best Actress’, Alia Bhatt went up on stage and collected her award with her face full of gratitude.

Even though there were many who were super happy with Alia Bhatt’s big win, there were a handful of netizens who pointed out that Alia Bhatt had reused her wedding saree. A certain user wrote, “Who noticed She wore her shadi wali saari’. Then, there was another user who wrote, ‘The best part is that she wore her wedding saree while accepting the national award. There was another netizen who wrote, ‘Loved how u put your wedding dress for another special day’. Besides all this, there were many congratulatory messages from many for Alia Bhatt for her unbelievable performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi.

The film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ saw Alia Bhatt in the titular role. Besides her, there were an array of stellar performers like Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Jim Sarbh and Ajay Devgn… all of them in important roles. On the professional front, Alia Bhatt is bust with the shooting of her upcoming film ‘Jigra’, about whom she had described as 'a beautiful story of courage, passion, and determination'. This film also marks the collaboration between Alia's home banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
