Andaru Bagundali Andulo Nenundali, the Telugu remake of the Malayalam hit Vikruthi, the feel-good drama, is creating waves on OTT. The film, adapted and directed by Sripuram Kiran, starred Ali, Mouryani, Naresh and Pavitra Lokesh in key roles and released directly on the Telugu OTT platform aha. The drama was jointly produced by Mohan Konithala, Alibaba and Sricharan under Aliwood Entertainments and premiered on aha on October 28.
The film, upon its release on OTT, has clocked an impressive milestone, 40 million streaming minutes on aha, despite minimal promotions and it's a considerable achievement given the scale and the cast of the project. Inspired by a true incident in Kerala, the film threw light on the many dangers of the social media age with the right mix of drama and humour. Ali, who has also produced the film, expressed his happiness on the response for the film on OTT.
"Cinema may be business at the end of the day, but it's a powerful medium through which we can plant a noble thought in the minds of the viewer. Andaru Bagundali Andulo Nenundali was made with an honest intention. Many people from several corners of the Telugu states are reaching out to me, claiming that they had watched the film four-five times. The film clocked 2 crore viewing minutes in the very first week of its release and it left us very satisfied," Ali shared.
"I was a little disturbed when I realised that some of them are watching the film on pirated sites. Yet, many have told me that I've made a good film and I'm thankful to all my viewers. The drama will soon be telecast on ETV," he added. SV Krishna Reddy, Atchi Reddy, Sivabalaji featured in special cameos in the project whose lineup also comprised Manju Bhargavi, Ramjagan, Sana, Vivek, Sapthagiri, Bhadram, Pranavi Manukonda and others.
