Netflix India has announced that All India Rank, the directorial debut of National Award-winning lyricist Varun Grover, is scheduled to premiere on April 19. In a promotional video shared by Varun on his social media handles, he said, “Hello, great news, my film All India Rank is finally coming to Netflix India. All India Rank' is my first film as a director… please watch it and let me know how you liked it. We would be very happy to hear your feedback.”

Netflix shared the OTT details of All India Rank with a special message on Instagram on April 17. In the Instagram message, the streamer wrote, “Vivek is 17 and about to face the biggest competitions of his life- pyaar, dosti, aur exams. A coming-of-age story that will melt your heart. All India Rank arrives 19 April, only on Netflix! #AllIndiaRankOnNetflix @allindiarankmovie”

What is special about the film?
Varun Grover wrote and directed the comedy-drama film called All India Rank. The movie talks about the struggles of preparing for the toughest written competition in the country. Many social media users feel that the film draws inspiration from the entrance examination processes followed in the IITs and IIMs.
The film was produced by Matchbox Shots and starred Bodhisattva Sharma, Shashi Bhushan, Samta Sudiksha, Geeta Agarwal, and Sheeba Chaddha. The movie was released in theaters on February 23, 2024. It did not manage to collect great amounts of money theatrically as it faced stiff competition from movies such as Fighter and Teri Baaton Main Aisa Uljha Jiya.
But the movie also had its world premiere on February 5, 2023, at the 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam, as the closing film. Mayukh-Mainak composed the music of the film, while the lyrics have been penned by Grover himself.
