A filmmaker’s job is only half done with making a good movie; the bigger task, thereafter, is to market it well and ensure that the content reaches the target audience. The team of Vikrant Rona can now sit back and relax, as far as the onus of getting the film to theatres goes. Promotions, of course, have to continue at the same pace or more than what they are doing at the moment, but they can now focus solely on that, now that their distribution partners for all of India are in place.

Sometime last year, producer Manjunath Gowda, who is also a well-known distributor in the Karnataka region, had sold the satellite and digital rights of Vikrant Rona to Zee Studios (Zee Kannada and Zee5, respectively). Zee Studios has now partnered with him yet again, but this time, as the distributor of the Tamil version of the film. In fact, when leading man Kiccha Sudeep announced the collaboration, he said that he was happy that they were partnering yet again, but wondered, in jest, why they were doing it in instalments.

For the Malayalam version, actor-producer Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films are on board, which comes as no surprise, given that he did the honours of launching the Malayalam version of the trailer. In North India, Salman Khan Films will present the Hindi version, in association with PVR Cinema as the distribution partner. The Telugu version has been bagged by Cosmos Entertainment through KFC Distributors.

Back home, of course, Manjunath will handle the logistics of the Kannada version through his banner Shalini Artss, in association with Sudeep’s home banner, Kiccha Creations. In the overseas market, OneTwenty 8 Media (through Phars Films) will take the film to an estimated 55+ countries world wide. Kannada filmmaker Yogish Dwarakish, who is one of the partners of OneTwenty 8 Media has said that deals have been closed for the release in over 30 countries, with the rest to fall in place in the coming days. Around 1,200 screens have been confirmed for the overseas release, he had said.
