India is witnessing two biggest releases of the year simultaneously - Allu Arjun’s multilingual action-thriller Pushpa: The Rise and the most awaited MCU threequel Spider-Man: No Way Home. Though the big cards have brought back the rush to cinema halls after the pandemic, the two films are now competing with each other.

During a special event of the movie, Allu talked about the healthy competition, and said he is looking forward to the audience going back to the halls. He also hailed it as a culture, which he believes to be on a decline currently, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

First part of Pushpa opened in cinemas on Friday, a day after Tom Holland’s No Way Home hit the screens. Allu highlighted the importance of the audience journeying back to theatres irrespective of the film. “I am not looking at Pushpa or another film, I am looking at Indian cinema,” he said. Adding to it, he said cinema is the ultimate word and it should win, not just Indian cinema but world cinema overall.

The actor made it clear that tent-pole films like Spider-Man, Pushpa, the upcoming cricket drama 83 are all going to be a huge draw at the box office. He thinks Spider-Man should get back people and Pushpa should get Indian people back to the halls, ultimately to celebrate the united emotion called cinema. He also wished luck for the release of 83. He took a moment to congratulate Bollywood for the success of Sooryavanshi as well.

Meanwhile, Pushpa reunites the actor with director Sukumar, the man behind his 2004 blockbuster Arya. He talked about the challenges of working on Pushpa, especially when the shoot held in a forest with around 500 people. Keeping sanitisation alongside the accommodation, food and more seems to have added much difficulties for the team. The actor exclaimed that the shooting for this film was equivalent to shooting four films.
