Allu Arha played the role of Shakuntala's son in the movie. And her confident performance as a child, who is much wiser than her age, has been drawing praise from audiences.

Shaakuntalam is inspired by Indian mythology and it tells the story of a beautiful woman, whose life falls apart after being cursed by a saint with a short temperament. Written and directed by Gunasekhar, the film also stars Dev Mohan in the lead. However, Shaakuntalam has garnered mixed reviews. And it remains to be seen how it will fare over the weekend.

On the career front, Allu Arjun is shooting for his much-awaited movie Pushpa: The Rule. On his birthday earlier this month, the filmmakers released a teaser , which created a stir on the internet. Written and directed by Sukumar, the movie is expected to arrive in cinemas by the end of this year.
