The Hindi release of Allu Arjun starring Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has been postponed to allow for the release of Shehzada, featuring Kartik Aaryan.

On Friday, the following statement was released, which read that Manish Shah, the promoter of Goldmines Telefilms, and the makers of Shehzada have chosen to pull the Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Hindi version from theaters. It also added that the makers of Shehzada are grateful to Manish Shah for consenting to it.

Coincidentally, Goldmines Telefilms had acquired the Hindi rights to Allu Arjun's movie Pushpa: The Rise.

Trivikram Srinivas, directed Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which also stars Pooja Hegde, Tabu, Jayaram, Sushanth, Nivetha Pethuraj, Sachin Khedekar, and Murali Sharma, was produced by Allu Aravind. It recounts the lives of Arjun's character Bantu, who is despised by his father and mistreated. He discovers later that he was switched as an infant and that his biological father is a wealthy businessman.

The famous line from the fifteenth-century Telugu Vaishnava poet Bammera Pothana's mythological story Gajendra Mokshanam, where Lord Vishnu comes down to save Gajendra, the elephant king, from Makaram, the crocodile, is Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

The Telugu remake, which was released in 2020, was one of the year's highest-grossing Indian films.

The creators of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo had intended to release the Hindi-dubbed version of the action-drama in theatres on January 26, following the massive success of Arjun's last production, Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1, in the Hindi-speaking market.

The decision to pull the film comes amid allegations that the producers of Shehzada were opposed to the film's distribution in Hindi due to concerns that the dubbed version would harm the new picture's chances.

Meanwhile, the Hindi film Shehzada is directed by Rohit Dhawan and reunites Kartik with his Luka Chuppi co-star Kriti Sanon. The film also features Paresh Rawal and Manisha Koirala in supporting roles.

The shoot was kicked off a few months back and the film is eyeing a release in the second half of 2022.
