Allu Arjun made history today by winning his first national award in the Best Actor category for his blockbuster Pushpa The Rise, that released in 2021. The film also registered a win in another category - Best Music Direction - where the award was won by Devi Sri Prasad. The film also starring Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Sunil and Anasuya was directed by Sukumar.

Celebrating the two national award wins for Pushpa, the director Sukumar and the film’s producers (of Mythri Movie Makers) Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni visited Allu Arjun’s residence. In a video shared by the production house, the entire team appears in a joyous mood for the film’s momentous victory. Allu Arjuns’ wife Sneha Reddy, father Allu Aravind are seen in the video as well.

Both Sukumar and Allu Arjun hugged each other while erupting in joy. Pushpa, the first pan Indian film in the career of Allu Arjun, was a huge success in all languages where it was released - Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. The second part of the film, Pushpa 2 - The Rule, is also wrapping up its shoot at a brisk pace and is expected to release in mid 2024.

Pushpa (The Rise) is currently streaming in all languages on Amazon Prime Video. The songs from the film were a rage at the time of its release - Oo Antava, Srivalli, Ey Bidda Idi Naa Adda, Dakko Dakko Meka and Saami being huge hits with listeners. This is also the first ever National Award win for Devi Sri Prasad, who entered Telugu cinema with the film Devi.

Karthika Srinivas edited Pushpa while the Polish technician Miroslaw Kuba Brozek was the cinematographer. The film featured Daali Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Jagadeesh Prathap Bhandari in important roles too. Allu Arjun’s earlier film Ala Vaikunthapurramulo too won a national award last year in the Best Music Direction category, won by S Thaman.
