Allu Sirish was last seen in the Telugu remake of Pyaar Prema Kadhal, Urvasivo Rakshasivo, alongside Anu Emmanuel, a rom-com directed by Rakesh Sashii, that opened to a moderate response at the box office. It looks like he’s set his eyes on another remake. The young actor is joining forces with filmmaker Antony for an action fantasy film to be produced by K E Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green.
The actor announced the film with a poster alongside a teddy in a metro. “Me & my co-star from my next film! Will be sharing the first look & glimpse tomorrow, 30th May at 4:05pm. Stay tuned,” he wrote. Going by the poster and the production house, there are enough hints that the film is a remake of the Arya, Sayyesha starrer Teddy, which released directly on Disney+ Hotstar in 2021. Or are they taking it forward with a new standalone film as part of Teddy franchise?
The film is reportedly titled Buddy in Telugu. Hiphop Tamizha score the music for the project that features Prisha Singh as the female lead. Rangam fame Ajmal, Ali, Mukesh Rishi play other important roles in Buddy. Ruben is the editor of the film that has two cinematographers - Krishnan Vasant and Colin Titus. Netflix has acquired the OTT rights of the film and Junglee Music has bagged the music rights.
The first look and glimpse of the project will be out later today. Allu Sirish has acted in another remake in his career, ABCD: American Born Confused Desi, a Malayalam film that originally starred Dulquer Salmaan. His recent release Urvasivo Rakshasivo is available on two leading OTT platforms - aha and Netflix. While the actor, son of noted producer Allu Aravind and brother to Allu Arjun, made his debut with Gouravam, he proved his mettle with films like Srirastu Subhamastu and Okka Kshanam.
