Tamil thriller Alpha Adimai, a shoestring project funded by a group of cinema enthusiasts, received a great response from fans and critics alike for its stark portrayal of the drug world and its horrors. Directed by Jinovi, the film was earlier screened at several film festivals and also won nominations and the Indus Valley Film Festival award for the best movie.
Where can we watch Alpha Adimai?
The film now premieres on Sony LIV on September 3. According to an interview given to dtnext.com by the director Jinovi, there will be two more instalments to the movie. While the first part focuses on the awakening and growth of the villain and his rise to power, the second part will narrate the story of the hero and his background followed by a face-off between the hero and villain in the third part of the film.
What is Alpha Adimai about?
The first part narrates the tale of a small-time marijuana dealer who takes over the business from his boss after a police raid. The movie consists of the events of one night. The movie is given the tagline, “an overnight tale of a pawn becoming a leader.” The details about the other two parts are not yet out.
The team of the film was in talks with various OTT platforms after the theatrical release was postponed several times due to the pandemic. But it was SonyLIV that announced its release date on the platform recently along with the trailer of the movie.
The movie stars newcomers Eeshwar, Jenovi, Kalki and Vinod in prominent roles.
