Premam director Alphonse Puthren has completed the filming of his much-awaited film Gold, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara. The filmmaker, who was busy with the post-production of the film, wrapped up its shooting with a song sequence featuring his wife Aleena Antony, Soubin Shahir and Ganapathi.
The sequence was filmed in Fort Kochi a few days ago, with Aleena also involved in choreographing the song. This would also mark the first onscreen gig of Aleena, who is the daughter of producer Allwyn Antony. Aleena and close friend Nazriya Nazim’s dance reels that gone viral a few years ago.
The dance sequence, which also features cameos by Soubin Shahir and Ganapathi, was shot by cinematographer Anend C Chandran, who along with Hridayam’s Viswajith Odukkathil had cranked the camera for Gold.
The upcoming movie, which is produced by Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames, has more than 40 characters and the makers had revealed its first glimpse through a poster featuring its ensemble cast recently.
Apart from its lead actors, the movie also has Lalu Alex, Deepti Sati, Roshan Mathew, Saiju Kurup, Shanti Krishna, Baburaj, Vinay Forrt, Shabareesh Varma, Krishna Sankar, Ajmal Ameer, Chemban Vinod Jose, Jagadeesh and Jaffer Idukki as part of the cast. Several other actors will also feature in cameo roles such as those of played by Soubin and Ganapathi.
The movie marks Alphonse’s comeback film after seven years. The filmmaker, in an interaction with social media users, had said that the movie is similar to his debut venture Neram in narrative but will be different in terms of the experience it offers to the audience. Neram, which had Nivin Pauly and Nazriya, was a dark comedy-thriller.
With the film in its final stages of post-production, the makers are expected to announce a release date soon.
