Did you know that Alvaro Morte who plays the famous character of The Professor in the Netflix show Money Heist is a cancer survivor? The actor was diagnosed with a tumour in his left leg in 2011. Although he fought all the odds and survived the deadly illness, he revealed that he had fears of dying or getting his leg amputated.

While giving an interview to The Observer in 2016 as reported by Indian Express, Morte said that he still remembers the doctor with a white coat and stethoscope treating him and telling him that he will have plenty of time to live despite the unfortunate happening.

He addressed the tumour as a temporary health issue, something like a flu. He further added that he refused to accept defeat and fought the slim chance of survival even though his mind advised against it.

Alvaro had initially thought that he was going to die or his leg would be cut off but nothing of that sort happened. He had a plethora of thoughts while battling the ailment as he started contemplating if he had respected his beloved ones or if he had stood by his principles in life. Thankfully, he survived the disease and he started enjoying every moment of his life.

Season finale of the crime series is all set to release on September 3 and fans cannot wait to see him on the show along with other favourite characters. The trailer of the same was released a couple of weeks ago and it looks very promising.
