Amaal Mallik: I’m really excited to work for Radhe Shyam

Singer-composer Amaal Mallik, who has been roped in to compose music in Telugu star Prabhas’s upcoming movie ‘Radhe Shyam’, says he’s elated to be on board for the project. He said, “I am so thrilled that I am a part of a movie which stars Prabhas sir as the lead. It’s going to be exciting to compose for Radhe Shyam,” said him. 

Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, ‘Radhe Shyam’ features Pooja Hegde as the female lead. Set in the ‘70s against the backdrop of Europe, the project is billed as a romantic story. The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Vamsi, Pramod and Praseedha under the banner of T-series and UV Creations. The movie, which is slated for a release on January 14, 2022, during the festival of Sankranti, is expected to release in five languages - Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

The movie is Amaal’s first collaboration with both Prabhas and Pooja. Amaal added, “Director Radha sir has created a massive canvas for me to create something unique and larger than life for this film. All I know is I’m gonna give it my all.” 

Amaan Mallik, who is a composer, singer, performer and lyricist, began his career at a young age itself. He started off by assisting music composer Amar Mohle at the age of 15, and debuted as a music director in 2015 with Salman Khan-starrer Jai Ho, in which he had made three songs. Later, he went on to bag a Filmfare Award for the Best Music Director along with Ankit Tiwari and Meet Bros in 2015, for the song ‘Sooraj Dooba Hain’ from the movie Roy. 

Amaal will also be working on his next independent music video, which is expected to be out this year.
