Amar Boss: Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy bring Rakhee back to a Bengali film

Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy will soon bring back Rakhee Gulzar to the Bengali audience. The director duo’s last film Raktabeej is still running in the theatres and is critically acclaimed. Amidst this, Windows Production announced their next film Amar Boss where Rakhee will play the protagonist. 

Nandita Roy wrote the story and screenplay of the film. Srabanti Chatterjee is playing an important role here. The last Bengali film Rakhee acted in was Nirban, which was not seen by many people. The film, directed by Goutam Halder, was shown in the festivals but was not released in the theatres. In that sense, people will see Rakhee once again after Rituparno Ghosh's Shubho Mahurat. 

Shubho Mahurrat was released in 2003 and 20 years have passed. Rakhee, though staying away from Tollywood, regularly watches Bengali films. Shiboprosad said that Rakhee watched all their films and Haami is her favourite. He agreed to the fact that getting a scope to tell 'action-cut' to Rakhee would be his wish-fulfilment. 'She is the protagonist of our next film. Another dream-come-true. Today's morning is special.' Shiboprosad will also act in the film. 

The shooting will start in January. Pre-production is going on. This is Srabanti's first appearance in a Windows film. She is now busy with Debi Choudhurani. After the work is finished, she will start shooting for Amar Boss.
