Amar Kaushik's Stree 2 has been enjoying the blockbuster success ever since it hit theaters. The film finally reached 500 crore club as. On day 22, the net collections for Stree 2 in India are Rs. 502.90 crores. Amid this success, in a new interview, the filmmaker shared his dream cast for Stree 2 if the movie was made in the 90s time. He also shared a major update on Bhediya 2.
During a rapid-fire round with Bollywood Hungama, filmmaker Amar Kaushik was asked whom he would have cast if Stree had been made during the 90s. The director said that the cast would have featured Madhuri Dixit, Govinda, Shakti Kapoor, and Kader Khan.
When he was asked whether Stree 3 will be released first or Bhediya 2, the filmmaker answered the latter and also hinted at the possibility of the return of Kriti Sanon in the sequel.
Speaking about Varun Dhawan's Bhediya 2, the director told India Today, “The script is not locked yet, but we have written the story, and now we need to develop the screenplay." He also mentioned that he is not satisfied with a few parts of the story and the team is currently working on that.
The film will see Varun Dhawan return as Bhediya. However, there is no confirmation of Kriti Sanon’s return to the franchise. Meanwhile, Varun was recently seen making a cameo in Stree 2 as Bhediya.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, director Amar Kaushik was asked whether fans will get Stree 3 or not.
He shared, “There is a possibility. There’s story still left to be told, and characters left to be explored. A call will be taken after the film’s [Stree 2] release. There is a possibility of Stree 3, 4 and 5."
The filmmaker told India Today that the team did not realize the similarities between the Stranger Things poster and the Stree 2 poster. After they liked the poster they were given, they kept it. It was later when netizens pointed it out that the team realized the similarities. "The intention was not to copy. It was co-incidental. Had I known I would have avoided it," he said.
