On Wednesday, Amazon Prime Video India took to their social media pages and teased people by announcing a massive party. They introduced a trend named '#JoinTheBiggestParty'. Now, the cat is finally out of the bag and the news is Amazon Prime Video introduces Channels that brings eight content providers namely discovery+, Lionsgate Play, Eros Now, Docubay, MUBI, hoichoi, Manorama Max and Shorts TV as add-on subscriptions to Prime members in India.
Sharing the excitement, Gaurav Gandhi who is the Country Manager of Amazon Prime Video India said in a statement, "With the launch of Prime Video Channels, we now take the next big step in our journey to entertain India by creating a video entertainment marketplace."
Calling it a first of its kind in the country, Gaurav also shared that Channels will not only delight the customers by giving them along with entertainment choices but also benefit the OTT Channel partners who collaborate with Amazon Prime Video.
While Chaitanya Divan the Head of Prime Video Channels shared that Prime Video Channels arrives in India after launching it in 11 countries. He added, "The launch marks our effort to collaboratively grow the video streaming segment in the country. We look forward to increasing the selection of entertainment even further, with additional channel partners joining in the next few months."
The annual pricing of the channels are as follows:
discovery+ for Rs 299/year. The content provider is also offering a 25% discount for Prime members at launch.
Docubay for Rs 499/year.
Eros Now for Rs 299/year.
hoichoi for Rs. 599/year.
Lionsgate Play for Rs 699/year
Manorama Max for Rs. 699/year.
MUBI for Rs 1999/year
Shorts TV for Rs 299/year.
The launch has provided Prime members a special introductory annual subscription offer made available by the OTT channel partners.
