Deepika Padukone recently faced criticism when the actress posted her BTS pics from Oscars 2023 just before Alia Bhatt was going to make her Met Gala debut.
Recently, Deepika Padukone came under fire for posting behind-the-scenes photos from the Oscars 2023 right before Alia Bhatt was set to make her Met Gala appearance. Three days after the latter's big day, Deepika turns cheerleader for her and fans refer to this as "damage control."
Alia Bhatt prepared for her Met Gala debut on Friday by posting a BTS video to her Instagram account. The caption in the video read: "@aliaabhatt turned to designer @PrabalGurung for her #MetGala debut, for which even this superstar was a little nervous. Wobbly knees were nowhere to be seen once this glamorous look hit the carpet, though. The all-white outfit elegantly fit into the night’s dress code of “in honor of Karl.” Featuring a dramatic sheer train and hundreds (if not thousands) of pearl beads, the look served up pure princess bride—which certainly was a recurring theme in the decades-spanning catalog of Lagerfeld’s work. Another nice touch? She wore a single fingerless glove, which was one of Lagerfeld’s favorite accessories (though he wore two)."
The actress was praised by numerous celebrities, and fans couldn't stop gushing over it. Her fan base was drawn to Deepika Padukone's response, though. The Pathaan actress added a red heart and wrote "You did it" in the comments section.
While Alia has not yet responded, social media users differ with Deepika Padukone's complement of Alia Bhatt, though. On Reddit, one remark stated: “This is how strong PR works, damage control.” Another commented, “i always find her compliment or praise for her competitors fake.” Another said, “She always does this after she do something shady.”
Deepika Padukone shared her sneak peeks from the Oscars 2023 shortly before Alia Bhatt was about to make her Met Gala debut, which is when the whole feud between the two actors was assumed by their fans. Internet users called the Pathaan actress "insecure" because they believed she was attempting to steal Alia's spotlight.
The next time audiences will see Deepika Padukone will be in the film Fighter, alongside Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor. The actress will also be seen alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Disha Patani in Nag Ashwin's Project K, which is now in production. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt will appear in Karan Johar's upcoming film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, where she will reunite with Ranveer Singh, who she previously worked with on Gully Boy. On July 28, the movie is scheduled for release.
