Sunny Deol starrer Jaat was finally released in theaters on April 10. However, the film with enough buzz began with little growth at the box office. In the film, Sunny played the role of a lone drifter, Baldev Pratap Singh, who arrives in a coastal village ruled by a tyrannical figure, Ranatunga (Randeep Hooda). Filled with action sequences, Sunny's character fights against injustice using his signature action style. In a new interview, the actor reacted to expressing anger as the main emotion rather than romance in most of his films.
Speaking to Bollywood Life, Sunny Deol mentioned that his characters express anger spontaneously. He added, "Each emotion has a place. I feel angry only when something bothers me. In my films, the characters I play also go through such a phase. Mostly people like to remember that, not when I am doing a romantic scene.”
Sunny further added that actors are supposed to make whatever character they play believable, and that's the honesty he demonstrates.
"Rest I don't know what happens I just indulge myself in that moment in that scene. Then I want to feel it and want it to happen, and when it happens, we feel happy and satisfied because it feels true. I know when I do it wrong, but when I am told to do the same thing again, I can't do it," he said.
Even after a significant buzz, Jaat managed to collect only Rs. 7 crore on day 2, which is Rs. 2.5 crores less than the first day, and in total, the film made Rs. 16.5 crore as of now. According to the latest update from Sacknilk, the film's earnings have increased slightly on the third day of its release, reaching a total of Rs. 26.50 crore.
The action thriller will be released on Netflix after its theatrical run. The release date is still being determined.
In Jaat, Sunny, who played the titular role, seeks revenge after his family and village are harmed by a ruthless criminal. Randeep Hooda was seen as Ranatunga, a ruthless criminal. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film also casts Regina Cassandra in a key role.
