Amid Pathaan success, KGF makers approach Shah Rukh Khan for a Hindi film? Here’s what we know

With Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan broke every significant box office record. In a single week, the Siddharth Anand-directed film brought in Rs 640 crore globally and Rs 315 crore in India. There have been rumours that the producers of the KGF franchise have approached SRK for a Hindi feature following the success of Pathaan. Now the production house breaks silence on this.

Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films, responded to the persistent rumours by denying that such a strategy is currently in place. He clarified that they haven't discussed a potential collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan or his team. He further stated that they have no plans to produce any Hindi movies till they have a genuinely strong script to work with.

Vijay was asked if the success of Pathaan by Bollywood would affect the south's film industry. To this, he told India Today, "I don’t think it will affect any of the film industries – North or South. The success of Pathaan will encourage filmmakers to make good films. It is good for the film industries (Bollywood and South) as the audience is coming to theatres in large numbers to watch films. This is good for the Indian entertainment industry as a whole. People want to see larger-than-life films in theatres and the success of Pathaan will help all Indian films."

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is back in the business with the box office superhit film, Pathaan. The film is backed by YRF and stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the pivotal roles. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand.
