It looks like Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is more committed than ever before to take charge of his career. After impressive films like 118 and Bimbisara in the recent past, his next, Amigos, too promises to be an intriguing, unconventional outing. The film is written and directed by a newcomer Rajendra Reddy and bankrolled by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers.
The teaser of Amigos was launched earlier today, presenting Kalyan Ram in his first-ever triple role. The glimpse commences with a group of officers entering a house and Kalyan Ram, in one of his roles, introducing himself as Michael from Kolkata. His doppelgangers are Siddharth and Manjunath, a happy-go-lucky youngster and another innocent Kannada-speaking man. The trio meets in the middle of a scenic location.
One of the characters that Kalyan Ram plays, asks, ‘do you think being doppelganger is a job?’ It’s clear that one of them is after the others’ lives. Surprisingly, they become friends soon and there’s an intriguing twist in the tale. An interesting one-liner summarises the film ‘Manam kalavadam adbhutam, vidipovadam avasaram,’
Ashika Ranganath is cast as the love interest of one of the three characters. There are captivating chases, slick, larger-than-life action to keep you glued. Brahmaji makes his presence felt in the teaser too. Jayaprakash, Sapthagiri too essay crucial roles in the film. Ghibran is as consistent as ever with a stellar background score and excels in his comfort zone.
The makers of Amigos couldn’t have asked for a better start than this to kickstart the promotional campaign. Amigos is all set to release in theatres on February 10. S Soundar Rajan has cranked the camera while Tammiraju is the editor. Avinash Kolla is the production designer and costumes are designed by Rajesh – Ashwin. Kalyan Ram will seen in Devil after Amigos.
