Actor Amitabh Bachchan, who is known for his commanding personality both on and off screen, was admitted this morning to the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai after complaining of shortness of breath. The veteran star reportedly underwent an angioplasty in the early hours of Friday morning. However, according to sources from the hospital the angioplasty was done on a clot in his leg, and not on his heart.

Health update on Amitabh Bachchan post-angioplasty

The news came as a bit of relief for fans as they were worried about the health of the legendary actor. The actor also posted two updates after the surgery on X, formerly Twitter. The post immediately after his surgery said, “in gratitude ever...” leading to the release of tension among the masses. Most fans showered their well wishes and blessings for their favorite Bachchan, the senior one.

While some awaited Big B’s next post with anxiousness, others wished the actor a speedy recovery post-angioplasty. The actor’s following tweet shared a video of him and voiced by him with the team of Manjhi Mumbai for ISPL. These two updates give enough hope to admirers and wishers of Mr. Bachchan.

This is not the first hospital visit in 2024 for Amitabh Bachchan as earlier this year he had undergone surgery for his wrist. And in March 2023 had been injured while shooting for Kalki 2898 AD in Hyderabad. Thanks to overstraining his back while using a harness, he had suffered from a torn muscle and strained rib cartilage which had prevented him from flying to the San Diego Comic Con last year to promote the film.

Work front of Amitabh Bachchan

Big B was last seen in the Neena Gupta starrer Goodbye. But he better get his health back on track with plenty of rest, as he has plenty of upcoming challenging projects, ranging from Kalki 2898 AD to Brahmastra to Rajnikanth’s Vettaiyan. And let’s not forget the most exciting Bollywood adaptation of Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro’s The Intern, with Deepika Padukone and Mr. Bachchan in the leading roles.
