Anand Pandit's 60th birthday bash: Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha present at the same event decades after a rift

It is said that time heals everything! In the 1970s, Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha considered each other as rivals in the film industry, so much so that they refused to allegedly talk politely to each other. Both accused each other of snatching high-budget films. Much time, however, has passed since these developments. Today, these top stars speak fondly of each other. Moreover today, these two stars are celebrating producer Anand Pandit’s 60th birthday together.

At Anand Pandit’s birthday party this evening, 81-year-old Amitabh Bachchan arrived along with his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan. Later, the Bachchan family was joined by 66-year-old actor Jackie Shroff. Together, the three obliged the photographers for a photo.

Later, actor Shatrughan Sinha,77, arrived at the party along with his wife Poonam Sinha, and their sons Luv and Kush Sinha.

This development became a historic moment as it was after a long time that Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha gathered under one roof for a party.

What was Amitabh Bachchan, and Shatrughan Sinha rift about?

The film industry has always been fueled by competition, and in the 1970s, a notable rivalry emerged between two leading stars: Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha.

In 2022, Sinha delved into this era in his memoir, "Anything But Khamosh," revealing that Amitabh was hesitant to cast him in some films as he could sense the positive response Sinha was receiving. Despite starring together in numerous films during that period, Sinha claims that Amitabh was reluctant to collaborate due to the acclaim Sinha was garnering. The rivalry peaked during their collaboration in Yash Chopra's "Kaala Patthar." Sinha recalls instances where the chair next to Amitabh was not offered to him, and their interactions were marked by a lack of camaraderie. Despite the professional competition, Sinha expressed bewilderment, stating, "I found it all very strange and wondered why this was happening because I never had any complaints against him."

Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrugan Sinha have worked together in films namely Naseeb (1981), Shaan (1980), and Dostana (1980).
