Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘launch’ delays Kabzaa trailer; netizens less than pleased

With just about an hour to go for the scheduled launch of the trailer of his most ambitious project to date, Kabzaa, R Chandru announced that he was getting none other than Amitabh Bachchan to do the needful. An incredible feat no doubt, but given that the Senior Bachchan was only launching it digitally, and not at an on-ground event, netizens were furious that the makers pushed the time ahead with no intimation as to when the trailer would be available eventually.

#KabzaaTrailer was trending on social media, but not for the content that the filmmaker had presented. Instead, netizens were abusing the team for not sticking to the schedule. “#Kabzaa with most f*****d up team of promotions and marketing and stop this damn delays everytime. #KabzaaTrailer should have come at 5.02 pm sharp,” wrote Adit K. Another added, “Time sense ilwa? Yelro trailer?” “So what if Bachchan is launching the trailer or not. We just want to see the trailer. Release it soon,” was yet another comment. Several began mocking Chandru, by posting messages claiming that the trailer was fantastic, with random Youtube links attached to the same.

In the absence of an official confirmation from the team, it was speculated that the trailer would be out by 7 pm latest. Anand Audio, the official Youtube channel that will host the trailer was not spared either and was at the receiving end of the ire unleashed by fans. More so because this is not the first time there has been a delay in launching a trailer or song on the platform. While it was the Head Bush trailer earlier that was delayed for technical reasons, the Chum Chum Chali song from Kabzaa also did not drop at the promised time. And now, there is no word on the trailer.

Kabzaa, produced and directed by Chandru and co-produced by Alankar Pandian, is set to hit theatres on March 17.
