An Action Hero, starring Ayushmann Khurrana was released on December 2 and experienced a modest collection on its first day. Over the weekend, it increased up speed gradually. According to preliminary calculations, An Action Hero made Rs 5 crore on Day 3, December 4. But it's still insufficient. Anirudh Iyer's action comedy thriller is up against Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 2 and Varun Dhawan's Bhediya at the box office.

An Action Hero is Ayushmann's debut action movie. The movie brought in Rs. 1.50 crore on Day 1 (India nett). Over the course of its opening weekend in theatres, it gradually gained momentum at the box office. Although it showed a 60% gain on Day 3, the figures are still low. The amount collected on a single day was Rs 2.40 crore, bringing the total to Rs 5.87 crore. On Sunday, December 4, An Action Hero achieved a 16.69% overall occupancy in Hindi. Trade sources claim that collections were a little bit better in Chandigarh, Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida.

The film starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat is an action thriller. The movie, which released on December 2, is full of sleek action and caustic humour. Anirudh Iyer directed the film and Aanand L Rai, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar are the producers.

An Action Hero is Khurrana's third theatrical release of the year, following the medical campus-comedy drama Doctor G, which also starred Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah, and the political action thriller Anek, which also starred Andrea Kevichüsa, Manoj Pahwa, and Kumud Mishra. Both of the aforementioned films were a commercial disaster.

Even his romantic comedy Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui with Vaani Kapoor failed to draw audiences to theatres in December 2021; as a result, Anirudh Iyer's film is the Dream Girl actor's fourth straight box office flop. In the pre-pandemic era, he had previously delivered solo hits like Dream Girl, Badhaai Ho, and Andhadhun, among others.
