In a now-deleted photo, Ananya Panday can be seen smoking at her cousin Alanna Panday's mehendi ceremony. In a photo posted by one of the actress' fellow wedding guests, who was present at the party on Tuesday with her family, the actress can be seen puffing a cigarette. Reddit user who took a screenshot of the picture and posted it there before it was taken down caused a controversy.

“Was not expecting Ananya to be a smoker," the Reddit user commented beside the photo. Ananya was seen in the picture smoking while standing in a corner as the wedding guests gathered to celebrate. Many people expressed their shock and concern over Ananya's smoking in the wake of the picture's widespread debate. Others made fun of her.
