Ananya Panday: Kho Gaye Hum Kahan is especially relevant for someone my age

After making her debut in South Indian cinema with Liger recently, Ananya Panday will next be seen sharing the screen with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. The actress recently opened up about the upcoming film, which she says felt like someone was dissecting her life.

In conversation with PTI, Ananya spoke of how the film was a coming of age tale about friendship, and dealt with emotions everyone could relate to. Working on the film was a ‘cathartic’ experience for the actress, who said “It(the film) is relevant to someone especially of my age because it has a lot to do with social media”.

Ananya went on to speak of how she personally related to the film as well. When doing certain scenes there were many times when the actress felt like it had happened to her. She said that reading the script felt like someone was dissecting her life. So, the actress was able to add bits to the film which were her own, making it seem all the more real to her.

The actress’ previous film before Liger came in the form of Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan, which she called a ‘game changer’ for her. Ananya said that she was completely a ‘director’s actor’ when she started out, spending as much time as she could with the director to know their vision for a particular scene. While working on Gehraiyaan, Ananya said director Shakun had helped her find her voice as an actor. She said she’d learnt a lot from the film and the experience had brought out a difference in her.

Meanwhile, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan will see Ananya share the screen with Adarsh Gourav and her Gehraiyaan co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi. The Arjun Varain Singh directorial is written by Arjun along with Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.
