Ananya Pandey, who is busy promoting the forthcoming Amazon Prime series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, spoke with ETimes about season 1 and the anticipated season 2 of the series
In the chat, Ananya talked about her love for the web series and expressed her gratitude to Amazon Prime for inviting her to promote it. When quizzed about her most eventful summer, Ananya claimed that her most dramatic summer was that of 2019, when the actress made her debut in films with Student Of The Year 2.
"Student Of The Year 2 released in May that year. To me, that summer was a season of transformation. There was some falling in love as well, with myself and with another person,"she had told the portal.
When asked about the favourite aspects of The Summer I Turned Pretty, Ananya mentioned that the show's summertime was quite familiar with her own summers growing up.
She said, "I would go every summer to the same places and it was always about the mothers and the children, exactly how it plays out in the show. Obviously, it brought back memories of falling in love for the first time. The small moments of the first time you held each other's hand and your first kiss. Also, the importance of your girlfriends and how they will always be above everything else in your life."
The show also has a love triangle. Ananya mentioned that her favourite love triangle film is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. She walked down to tell how memorable the movie was and how she adored it as a 5-year-old.
In the meantime, the actress is all set to appear in Liger alongside Vijay Devarakonda. In a recent poster released by the team, Vijay Deverakonda bares it all and Ananya was one of the first ones to react to the picture. The actress stated that her response to the photograph was the same as everybody else's because "Vijay is too hot to handle." She described her role as "masaledar and dramatic" in the film.
The actress concluded her conversation by discussing her forthcoming film, Kho Gaye Hum Kaha, in which she stars with Siddharth Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav. Talking about the film, she said that the film was about social media and discovering oneself, finding love and dealing with all of those emotions in the time of digital and social media age. She added that it was a film that she would love to watch as an audience.
