Ananya Panday has THIS to say about pay parity in Bollywood; expresses shock over male actors' fees

Since her debut with the film Student of the Year 2, Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has grown as an actor. With her performances in films like Gehraiyaan, Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan, and CTRL, the actress proved her acting prowess. Besides her acting talent, the actress is also known for being vocal and expressive with her thoughts. Recently, Ananya opened up about pay parity in the industry and also mentioned that she never inquired about male actor's fees. However, she also stated that she was shocked when she heard the money male actors were getting paid.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, the Call Me Bae actress expressed her thoughts on pay parity and the progress made in the industry. While she believes that there have been significant strides in terms of pay but also in the overall presence of women on sets. She thinks that the industry has come a long way from how things were earlier.

Ananya talked about how she never focuses on the pay of male actors, she also mentioned that sometimes she gets shocked by the figures she hears. The young actress also expressed her strong opposition to unfair treatment when it comes to gender-based disparities, such as a man receiving better privileges simply due to his gender.

While concluding, Ananya Panday said that while she may not be fully aware of the exact pay scales, she stands against unfair treatment. She also expressed her commitment to fighting for equality, not just for herself but for every woman on set.

On the professional front, after starring in Call Me Bae and CTRL, Ananya Panday is now set for the second season of Call Me Bae. She also has Chand Mera Dil with Lakshya and an untitled project with Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan. Both projects are backed by Dharma Productions.
