Ananya Panday and Sreeleela compete for lead role opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Raaj Shaandilyaa’s next; details inside

The project's buzz has only increased since September 2024, when it was reported that Sidharth Malhotra had signed on as a full-time commercial entertainer. Fans were also informed about the hiring of Raaj Shaandilyaa, the director of the 2019 smash comedy Dream Girl, about ten days ago. Bollywood Hungama has just reported another major update about the highly awaited project.

Sreeleela and Ananya Panday in talks

The producers of the film are reportedly trying to sign a female lead now that they have locked down the lead actor and director. Sreeleela (watch Dhamaka) and Ananya Panday (watch Khaali Peeli) are reportedly in discussions with the producers.

Mahaveer Jain is producing the next film through his production company, Mahaveer Jain Films (MJF). Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, a partner in MJF and well-known for the Fukrey series, will also produce the project.

The source then went on to say that the makers are in advanced talks with both of them, providing further details. It is their expectation that they will quickly arrive at a resolution and then make a decision. The makers anticipate that it will occur shortly.

Tough choice for the makers

When asked about the casting options, an industry insider said that both the female actors are gorgeous and fine performers. Ananya continues to demonstrate her value; her performance in Kesari Chapter 2 was exceptional. At the same time, Sreeleela has been consistently producing high-quality work; her breakout hit Kissik from Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) propelled her to stardom across India. She will get even more fans in the Hindi-speaking states thanks to her major part in Kartik Aaryan's Diwali film. That being said, it will be intriguing to watch which female actor gets the role.

Sidharth Malhotra's busy line-up of films

Given Sidharth Malhotra's impressive and packed schedule, the excitement surrounding the picture is reasonable. As for his other projects, he is preparing for a mythical thriller called Vvan with Tamannaah Bhatia, along with this commercial entertainer. With Deepak Mishra at the helm and Ekta Kapoor producing, Vvan is sure to delight viewers. 

In addition, Sidharth is now finishing up filming with Janhvi Kapoor in Dinesh Vijan's Param Sundari. Another highly anticipated film this year, the film is set to hit theatres on July 25.
