Anees Bazmee calls Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3's clash with Ajay Devgn's Singham Again 'unfortunate': 'Both the films faced...'

Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 clashed with Ajay Devgn's Singham Again at the box office. Both movies were released on Diwali (November 1). Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was directed by Anees Bazmee, and Rohit Shetty helmed the Ajay Devgn-starrer. In a recent interview, filmmaker Anees reflected upon this face-off and called it 'unfortunate'. It's because the director believes both the movies faced losses to some extent.

In an interview with Galatta Plus, Anees Bazmee said delaying Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3's release wasn't possible as the release date was already announced. The filmmaker revealed that the publicity regarding the Kartik Aaryan-starrer was accordingly planned. Anees added there was not much that he could do since everyone wanted the film to be released on Diwali.

Regarding his film's clash with Ajay Devgn's Singham Again, Anees mentioned, "With their subject, it might have been a compulsion for them also to release the film on Diwali. They were also right to do so. This clash was quite unfortunate, both the films faced a certain loss because of that."

The filmmaker opined that some things are not in one's control and that every film has its fate. He feels that every movie gets what it is supposed to get. In the same conversation, Anees admitted that things would have been great for both movies if they had solo releases.

"If we had a solo release, then the business would have doubled and the same applies to them as well. I know that, I believe it," added Bazmee.

The third installment of Bhool Bhulaiyaa minted approximately Rs 260 crore in India at the box office. Starring Kartik and Triptii Dimri, the horror-comedy earned over Rs 420 crore (gross) at the global box office. The film also starred Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sanjay Mishra, Rajpal Yadav, and others.
