Anees Bazmee is all set to bring back the fun and delight of No Entry to the silver screen yet again, as he rolls up his sleeves to work on the upcoming sequel to the 2005 film. Expectations for the sequel are definitely high, especially since it is bringing back the original trio of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan. The director recently opened up about the project, revealing when it will go on floors and why it took so long for him to helm the sequel.
In conversation with TOI, Anees said that everything was coming together and they were planning to get the film on floors sometime in January next year. He confirmed that the sequel will take things up from where No Entry ended, with Salman, Anil and Fardeen leading the story.
On the reason why the sequel took so long to come to fruition, Anees said “We don’t just want to cash in on the popularity of the franchise by making something mediocre, but want this film to live up to its previous part”.
The director went on to speak of how they came up with the story of the upcoming film, coming up with and discussing a number of ideas which they eventually rejected. In 2016, they came up with a one line idea that everyone was in agreement on, and started developing the film’s script around it.
Anees also confirmed the news that the film would include 10 heroines, each of whom have a prominent role to play. It was natural for writers to feel ‘dazed’ when trying to pen a script around 10 leading ladies, said the director. He added that he is hoping to get the leading ladies of the original film,Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta Bhupathi, Esha Deol Takhtani and Celina Jaitly, to be a part of the sequel as well, although nothing had been confirmed as yet.
