Ayushmann Khurrana’s socio-political thriller Anek, directed by Anubhav Sinha, is gearing for its release next year. The actor shared his character image on social media and made this announcement today.
In the latest Instagram post, Khurrana is seen sporting a rugged look with a loose brown jacket and beard.
The actor wrote in the caption that he’s thrilled to reunite with the filmmaker for a character that pushed him out of his comfort zone. “Anek will usher in a different language of cinema,” he added.
Anek went on floors at the beginning of this year and was shot in the North East region of the country. According to India Today, Sinha’s project has been his most expensive and large-scale till date.
Khurrana, who’s playing a character named Joshua, has collaborated with the ace filmmaker for the second time after the 2019 critically acclaimed gritty drama Article 15.
Anek is backed by Sinha under the Benaras Media Works banner and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
The music giant took the announcement to Instagram as well and wrote in the caption, “Impactful stories are created when great vision is backed by great talent! The explosive combination of @anubhavsinhaa, our bossman #BhushanKumar & @ayushmannk brings you an intense socio-political thriller in #Anek. Coming to theatres on 31.03.2022!
Get ready to be swept off your seats! (sic).”
