The movie business is back on its feet and ready to go with a slew of new releases. While two of the year's most anticipated entertainers, Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Anek' and Ranveer Singh's 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar,' were set to fight it out at the box office, the films' producers have now explored a win-win plan that will allow both movies to make a significant impact.
Recently, Aditya Chopra and YRF CEO, Akshaye Widhani, Bhushan Kumar, and Anubhav Sinha met and resolved to prevent a conflict. 'Anek' will now be released in theatres on May 27, rather than May 13, as originally planned.
Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films issued a press statement, saying, "Producers Bhushan Kumar and Anubhav Sinha were really generous and have shifted the release of 'Anek' to the 27th of May." He added that both the film, 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar' and 'Anek' will have a fair amount of the audience's attention as a result of this change. “Anek's trailer will now be linked to Jayeshbhai Jordaar as a token gesture, making this the first non-YRF cinema trailer to be added to a YRF film," he said.
Bhushan Kumar added that he believes film industry to be a family and that the team should always be supportive of the movies that the country is churning out. He said that both the films look promising and he is excited to see the 'Anek' video connected to 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar.'
"A huge amount of work and strategising goes into the creating of a film," says director-producer Anubhav Sinha. "By that principle, it deserves undivided attention. We were glad to move the release of 'Anek' forward a few days so that viewers can enjoy both films in a more leisurely manner," he said.
Anek, a film starring Ayushmann Khurrana and produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks, will be released on May 27, 2022.
