Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest release Anek has received poor openings at the Box Office. The film has the lowest opening in 2022 so far. This also happens because the mass crowd wants to continue watching Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani-Tabu’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

According to a report on Box Office India, Anek has managed to earn only Rs. 1.75 crores at the Box Office. The movie was anyway underrated and given the current situation of COVID-19, fewer audiences are stepping out for a film anyway.

Anek has suffered in regions like Gujarat, Saurashtra and Central India. This happens because the crowd in these areas want to rewatch Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in its second week.

Ayushmann’s second collaboration with Anubhav Sinha saw fewer audiences in the evening time. The movie is expected to perform on Saturday but a slow start could not be a good sign for the movie.

Unfortunately, currently, Anek has fallen into the category of films like Badhaai Do, Jhund and Dhaakad, which saw the lowest Box Office openings in 2022. While Dhaakad has been tagged as the worst film of the year, Anek is far from that, considering it earned better Box Office collections than Kangana Ranaut’s film.

Anek, however, will work in Assam, which is a part of where the story is based in. Ayushmann’s film, which introduces Andrea Kevichusa (who hails from Nagaland), is based on the condition of North East India as a whole. Unfortunately though, since the population there is minimal as compared to other states, Anek could only end up earning in lakhs more than what it will.

Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has gotten closer to Rs. 100 crore mark on its second Friday. The film has collected over Rs. 98 crores so far.
