Now, during an interaction with Screen Rant, the producer of Eternals Nate Moore revealed that Angelina's character suffers from memory loss in the film. He said that the reason behind the dementia is her advanced age in the film. Interestingly, Thena's memory loss angle is inspired by the comics titled Mahd Wy'ry.
Nate told the entertainment portal, "She has a tragic story in our film in that she comes down with something called Mahd Wy’ry. It's a version of dementia, because of the number of memories they have, they become unstuck in their mind, so she starts to forget exactly when she is."
The producer added that so through the course of Eternals, Gilgamesh played by Don Lee becomes Thena's protector. He further revealed that when Thena and Gilgamesh are found in the modern-day, they're are living off the grid in a cabin in Australia. As Thena is too dangerous to have around humans, they live far away.
Nate concluded by saying, "So, it's a fun arc for Angelina to play."
