Telugu audiences are gradually warming up to the idea of anthologies across various mediums. Even for filmmakers, they offer an opportunity to tell stories with precision and experiment with their craft. After Modern Love Hyderabad, Panchatantram and Meet Cute, Disney+ Hotstar is coming up with an anthology, Anger Tales. The show is set to land on the streamer on March 10.
Madonna Sebastian, Bindu Madhavi, Suhas, Venkatesh Maha, Phani Acharya and Tharun Bhascker play pivotal roles in the show directed by Prabhala Tilak, best known for his short film Kalakaarudu starring Suhas. Ahead of the show’s release, the OTT platform unveiled its trailer today. As the title suggests, the show, comprising four shorts, revolves primarily around ‘anger’.
The trailer introduces us to a bald youngster, who struggles to find a job despite several attempts. In another tale, a homemaker is finding it difficult to sleep in the noon hours owing to nonstop chatter from her neighbours. A newly married woman isn’t having it easy with her husband, who’s adamant about cooking vegetarian dishes in the house. A hotblooded man belonging to a fan club is hellbent on commencing a film show in a theatre at 10 pm.
Anger is the core emotion that connect the lives of these pivotal characters. The trailer takes us through various conflicts they face by expressing their anger and how it affects their relationships. The plot is unique, offering a new insight into interpersonal relationships backed by apt casting and impressive filmmaking. Moin, Padmaja Lanka play other pivotal roles in the show.
Produced by Sridhar Reddy and Suhas, the show is written by Karthikeya Karedla and Prabhala Tilak. Amardeep, Vinod K Bangari, Venkat R Shakhamuri, AJ Aaron are the cinematographers for the show which has music by Smaran Sai and is edited by Kodati Pavan Kalyan.
